Bude Community Cinema is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation - Run by the community
for the community
Registered Charity No. 1139583
- As a registered charity, our charitable purpose (set out in our Constitution) is
to provide a public benefit.
- Our raison d’être is to enable local people to enjoy films, in a cinema environment,
at as low a cost as practicable.
- BCC is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation and as such, we must have members
- people who support our aims of being a community cinema.
- BCC also needs people to help run the operation.
- A strong membership provides a democratic base.
- Subscriptions help our cash flow and reduce film hire charges.
- As a member you will be entitled to attend the AGM and vote on issues such as election
of the committee (who have the responsibility for day-to-day management of BCC) -
and in the future planning and policy.
- You will also receive regular news updates.
- And as a charity, we will reclaim tax on Gift Aided donations and eligible subscriptions
- so if appropriate, we hope you will sign the Gift Aid Declaration on the membership
application.
Who can become a member?
- Membership is open to anybody over the age of 18 yrs who applies to join and pays
the subscription.
(NB. In accordance with the Constitution, membership is also at
the discretion of the BCC committee.)
What does membership cost?
- BCC membership year runs for 12 months from 1st March.
- The subscription for 2011-12 is £10 for the year or part thereof.
- As a member you will be entitled to half-price admission, but only on production
of your Membership Card.
- Based on the normal admission price of £4, if you expect to see four films in the
course of a 12 month period, you will save money!
Please note that Membership is not transferable and subscriptions are not refundable.
